Brahms - Violin Sonata 2 [Halim/Gillot]

Slowly i'm making my way through this disc, last month i played the First Sonata [22nd September 2011], now it's the turn of the Second, initially my favourite of the three, but now that's rather blurred, i think i like them all equally.

Atef Halim is Egyptian, and is 61 today!, happy birthday Atef, not a household name, and how many other Classical music soloists come from Egypt?, the front cover is well done, lots of nice interest, the two pictures complement each other, though the lettering at the top is a bit messy, would have worked in a different colour.

It seems as always with this Sonata, that it's the second movement which i find the most fulfilment with, it rocks back and forth between lyrical and legato, to troubled and staccato,
